Acupuncture for Side Effects of Cancer Therapies
October 16th, 2010 § 1 Comment
I have been a licensed practitioner for over 25 years, but it wasn’t until the past several years that the scope of my practice has broadened to include treatment for cancer therapy related side-effects. I have had the opportunity to follow many patients through the course of their treatments, and practice a protocol for effectively treating the side effects of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.
What I have experienced is that the range of applications for cancer patients is quite impressive, using acupuncture therapy. I have had excellent results in treating patients who experience the following conditions:
1) Nausea and vomiting associated with chemo therapy
2) Bone pain which may result from immune-enhancing drugs, like neupogen
3) the stress associated with diagnosis and treatment
4) general aches and pains, gastric disturbances
